Rainbow Daycare Center is a community-centered early learning program located in Irving Park, Chicago. The program’s public history dates back more than 30 years and the prior Rainbow public website stated that the program was founded in 1996. It also stated that Rainbow moved to its current location at 3250 W. Irving Park Rd. in 2004. Today, Rainbow Daycare Center is entering a new chapter under new administration since March 2025 while continuing its commitment to quality care, early education, and family partnership.
Our Story
For years, Rainbow has been part of the neighborhood’s everyday life, supporting young children during the most important years of development. Our goal is to honor that legacy while bringing renewed energy, strong family communication, and a deeper commitment to excellence in early childhood education. We are building on a foundation of trust, care, and community connection to support the next generation of learners.

Leadership Profile
Jenny Kakow brings over 30 years of dedication to children, families, and community-based education. She holds a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Early Child Development. Caring for children is not only her profession, but her passion. Her experience includes work in special education, long-standing community involvement, and seven years of service in public schools and community leadership, including work related to budgeting and funding. Her vision for Rainbow Daycare Center is to create a place where families feel welcomed, children feel loved, and quality education begins early.
